About
Welcome to The WhoWeLost Project, a place for stories and remembrance.
Nearly five years after Covid-19 began, many of those who are still grieving feel stigmatized and abandoned due to the politicization of the virus. But even those who feel supported and heard may also be suffering in the midst of this evolving grief crisis. To help, the WhoWeLost.org site is designed to respect the mourner as well as the mourned by remaining a place of safety and calm. All stories are reviewed before being posted and no comments are allowed. If you need guidance about how to write a story, consider exploring our “Writing Toolbox,” which features tips and prompts to help you get started.
Writing about who you’ve lost can be therapeutic and life-affirming. So, pick up a pen and make some notes. Go beyond obituaries and social media posts to honor the necessity of memory. You may write on our site as often as you want or need to. Many in our WhoWeLost family write several times a year, often on holidays and birthdays, when memories can feel unbearably heavy. Shelter their story. We are always here, waiting and listening.
